Segmental and optical pulse oscillography is a non-invasive method for measuring blood pressure ratios in different segments of the extremities. Cuffs are applied that detect blood flow in the respective segments and record pulse waves. This method helps to detect circulatory disorders and arterial occlusions by analyzing the pressure differences and pulse wave propagation in the limbs.

Segmental and optical pulse oscillography is a non-invasive examination that measures blood flow and pulse waves in different segments of the extremities. This method helps to detect circulatory disorders and arterial occlusions.
During the examination, cuffs are placed at different points on your arms or legs. These cuffs measure the blood pressure and pulse waves in the respective segments by alternately inflating and deflating.
Segmental and optical pulse oscillography is usually not painful. You may feel a slight pressure sensation when the cuffs are inflated, but this is usually well tolerated and only of short duration.
The examination usually takes between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on how many segments of the extremities need to be examined and whether additional measurements are required.
The results of the segmental and optical pulse oscillography are often available immediately after the examination. Your doctor will analyze the data and discuss the results with you to identify possible circulatory disorders or arterial occlusions.
